How SETUP works
Open it with the SETUP button at the top of the window, or with Settings in the tray menu. Settings are split into pages, with arrows to move between them; the line at the bottom shows the recording state and the page number. There is no Save button: "Changes apply immediately".
App
- Startup. "Start with Windows" (on for new installs) and "Snap to screen edges", which makes the main window and the mini windows stick to the screen edges while you drag them.
- Language. The interface language: English, Español, Русский, 日本語 or हिन्दी. Menus, tooltips, windows, notifications and error messages switch at once. The engraved panel labels stay in English. This does not change the dictation language, which is set on the LANGUAGES row.
- Counters. "Drum clicks while you speak", the click volume and the click sound; see the POWER panel.
- Speech threshold. How loud a sound must be to count as speech, with a CALIBRATE button that sets it from your voice; see microphone.
Tube
The style buttons put a tube style straight into the main window. Below them a preview shows the tube in four states: Silence, Speech, Full, and Live speech, which listens to your microphone. Speech sensitivity sets how early the heaters and the glow react to your voice; the Look blocks on the right set the glow, the light on the metal and the Magic eye. Every block has Reset, and each style keeps its own settings. Styles beyond the Porthole and the fine tuning are part of Pro.
Files
What transcribes files and links (Automatic, NVIDIA graphics card, accelerated processor or plain processor) and the list of installed transcription engines with "Offer installs again" and "Test engines". Explained on file transcription speed.

What is not in SETUP
The microphone, Sensitivity, AUTO, BOOST, auto-stop, the engine, the model and the dictation language are all on LIVE. The hotkey is on the POWER panel.
